She received her master’s degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University and her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Maj. McKinney also is a graduate of the FBI National Academy at the University of Virginia. She completed the FBI Georgia Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar and participated in the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange Program.
Maj. McKinney is a graduate of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce Leadership Rome program and has volunteered her service with the Floyd Healthcare Foundation board of directors, Hospitality House board of directors, the Rome-Floyd Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers, the Community Criminal Justice Foundation, Rome Rotary Club, the Rome Housing Authority Family Self-Sufficiency program and the Leadership Rome Criminal Justice session.
She is a recipient of the Heart of the Community award and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
